Salman Khan on difference between self-respect and ego

The Tiger 3 actor was explaining Arhaan Khan the difference between ego and self-respect and advises how he should stay away from some people. He said, “A lot of people mistake self-respect for ego and vice versa. ‘I am Salman Khan I ain’t going to do this now’, that’s ego. And I have seen this in my own life that ‘how can that person do this, it is something I would never do.’ The next day I’m doing it and I’ve understood why the other person has done. You do the exact same thing which you thought was wrong because at that point of time my majburi was so much that I had to do that. Now people who do it without any majburi are conman as they don’t have scruples, principles, dignity or loyalty.”

He further added, “These are people that you clearly stay away from. Like for example you’re going to be in the movies, so now you have a staff who’s bitched about a driver or the previous owner, a makeup artist, hairdresser or a spot boy. Another example is your bodyguard who has opened the earlier actors life to you or shared some of their secrets. You be rest assured that you will be the next one. So these kind of people you never ever hire. This is where the loyalty comes in.”

Salman Khan recalls Arhaan beating him up during Dabangg

The actor further shares how people should avoid digging past during arguments. He stated, “Most of the times, as soon as there is an argument you go back to the past. Why do you need to go back to the past? You talk about now. This now is every second becoming a past.”

Salman recalled how Arhaan got aggressive after he saw Arbaaz getting beaten up by him in Dabangg on screen. He revealed, “I remember Arhaan when you were playing Cricket at the farm and got out. He got angry and walked out with the bat. And everyone was like Arhaan has temper issues. I was like ‘what temper just slap him. Chalo out yaha se niklo.’ Then one day when he saw Dabangg. When I beat Arbaaz up, he came and started beating me up. That is the time that we had to you know show him because at that moment he didn’t understand it. That was the point Arbaaz and me had to tell him that this is a movie. That blood and punching is not. We had to perform two three punches in front of him to make him understand. So these are times that you need to explain.”

On the work front, Salman will next be seen in Sikandar. The movie will release in Eid 2025 and also stars Rashmika Mandanna.
